SSA Scholarships

Awards for Discovery, Training, Performance, and Academics

The SSA has three scholarships, two of which were adopted from other organizations.  These have grown in amount and/or in number of awards available annually through donations and investment.  They are now endowed though additional growth creates additional opportunities.  The SSA is also currently managing scholarships that are funded externally, both examples of generous gifting.

Perhaps you would consider making a donation in support of one or more of these awards by completing the online form and specifying the awards you’d like to support.  Your sustaining support would be appreciated, though so is your one time gift.  You have that option and please consider maximizing your sustaining gift with the ACH option to pay directly from your bank account if you elect sustaining support.

Perhaps you would consider funding a glider flight training scholarship through an annual award or through an endowment.

  • A named glider flight training scholarship can be funded for a donation of $2,000.  Donations received by September 30, will be awarded in the following year.
  • An endowed, named glider flight training scholarship of $2,000 annually can be funded with a donation of $50,000. Scholarships endowed by September 30 will be awarded in the following year.

If you are interested in the above options, please e-mail SSA Scholarships.

The SSA Kolstad College Scholarship has grown, but the cost of education has grown also.  The goal of the Kolstad Committee is to continue to grow the endowment and increase the award at least two more levels.  Our talented and accomplished youth and juniors are also encouraged to pursue Kolstad Century Award flights.
